Or is it a scam? 2x the power or 1/2 the price sounds too good to be true.....caviate emptor? Slick ad copy/promo materials to scan though to get to the meaty part of the specs. Its a 'start-up', your money gets you an entry to the availability 'at discount' but is not actually a 'buy of product' as far as I can tell. Or am I overly cautious?

Likely not cautious enough. Indiegogo crowd funding project - no actual shipping product yet. Site claims some in Jan 2020 but.....
Read all the fine print carefully as you have a good chance you'll lose your money or get much less than you thought you would (capability, quality) with no guarantee of any long term support or warranty. Indiegogo has a much lower success rate than Kickstarter (last stats I saw was 9% vs 37% but do your own research). Either of the two are very risky although Kickstarter has a much better reputation due in part to the way they release the money to the projects - I sometimes support Kickstarter projects but only smaller things where I can accept loosing (kinda like taken $x to the casino prepared to just have fun but come home with $0). Not saying you couldn't end up with a great product at a great price but no way would I gamble on the amounts they are asking - your mileage may differ.

A kickstart campaign is like buying the first version of something. It will still need the bugs worked out.

Brettny: Not really. More like paying for the possibility of buying the first version - even more so with Indiegogo than Kickstarter.

What's more likely:
These guys are actually providing an innovative solution that outperforms the market at a specific price point
or
These guys managed to build a competitor to Tesla that is slightly cheaper and 80% as nice looking hoping to siphon off part of that market
I'm not even going to run the numbers but this is probably another case of you could do it yourself for 1/2 the price if you dont care about how pretty it is.

Fwiw Ive been following this 'product' since I became aware of it during the crowdfunding stage. A couple that are friends pre-ordered/funded in and waited....and waited, etc and on and on. Then they finally bailed but did get a refund! Ive been keeping my eye on the 'company's' updates and discussion. As of a few minutes ago the last update was in Feb, '23 (note their 'updates' have been few and far between); same old song&dance; ie, "we are a little behind but things are going well". All the while funders keep asking when they will get product, or the very few who have say "xyz doesnt work". To date there dont seem to be Any legit reviews of a real product, only pre-production promo stuff. I declare SCAM
