Hello,
I decided to join this forum in hopes that someone here might know something about my stove. Specifically who certified it. The sticker on the back of the stove was removed for refurbishing and has been lost. The stove is a Big Bear Sheepherder, made by Energy house in Utah. I have pictures but can't figure out how to upload them here. I have the manual for the stove and everything. It says nothing about certification unfortunately. I've had a WETT inspection for insurance and everything passed except certification is marked "unkown". If anyone has one or knows someone that has one please let me know what the sticker says. Or a picture of it would be great. It's such a nice stove it would be a shame to not be able to use it in my cabin this winter.
Thanks for reading,
Brandon

Unfortunately Energy house is no more and those numbers are out of service. Thanks though. I've been searching high and low for anything about the stove on the internet and still no luck. I managed to track down the Energy House owners name and and current phone number. I called her a few months ago and she was nice enough to send me a manual for the stove. Very nice lady in her mid 80s and her husband/co owner in his early 90s. The manual describes in detail all the distances and clearances required for installation, but has no mention anywhere about certification. So I called her again just a few weeks ago after the WETT inspection, and she seemed kind of upset. It turns out her husband has passed and I really didn't want to bug her. I did ask about the stoves certification and she said it must have been tested, but couldn't remember, bless her heart. So I'm still in a bad spot with the stove. The WETT inspector told me that it must have been tested for the manual to have all the ratings and clearances. That's why I'm hoping someone out there has one and still has the sticker on the back with the certification info.

Maybe an unhelpful question, but does it matter?
Where I am, you can have an uncertified stove, but then you have to follow the max clearances per the building code. So if your install already does, then certification doesn't matter.

I have a Big Bear Sheepherder stove that my husband purchased in 2012. It never was installed and still is boxed on pallets in my garage. We bought it from Transocean Ltd dba Energy House Appliances and I still have all the manuals, instructions and information sent to us. I looked through it all and could not find anything referencing certification.

Then probably its an uncertified stove, and you just have to follow the default requirements for your area

Hi Ewin,
Wow, a brand new big bear! It's such a nice Cook stove. Good to hear from someone that has one, and thanks to everyone who responded. I also have the manual and instructions and you're right there is nothing in there about certification. Is there any chance you can see the sticker on the back of the stove? Its on the bottom right. I believe that is where the serial number and certification logo is located. It would probly be CSA or ULC.
