Hate these things..
The horse training facility down the road finally switched to lithium yard tools. I picked up 3 of their old leaf blowers the other day (big back back ones). Figured I'd use one to blow off my shop roof, instead of the 110v I use now off the genny.
Usual thing, won't pull fuel in. I've been through 100 of these finicky little carbs, some successfully, some not. Pulled this one apart, pulled and cleaned the little inlet screen, pulled the needle and seat, adjuster screws, blew it al out...no soap. Is there one particular orifice in these things that plugs up?
I see Ebay has new carbs for about 15 bucks, probably Chinese, tempted to try one. Or I could just bail out on two strokes (chansaws excepted) like I have been doing.

The chinese Walbros work. Buy one and saw pulling your hair out. I gave up on all 2 strokes. Yard tools are all cordless now. I have a Stihl cordless chainsaw too. I did keep one of my big Stihl gas saws, just in case I need to cut up something big.

I have a Husq Back pack leaf blower that worked great - till the carb gunged up
Husq original was about $80-$90
I bought an alternative on Amazon for $15 and it worked fantastic - carb, spark plug, new filter, line, etc all for $15
Maybe an option, depending upon make/model;

I got one for my co workers Stihl weedwhacker, too many seasons with alkie fuel. So for $12, I got a new carb, came with new fuel line and strainer and grommet, new air filter, new spark plug. Installed it, work flawless. Everything was identical to the OE unit.

All my equipment is gas and the 2 stroke is the stuff I have the least trouble with. I inherited a old stihl weed wacker and it did need a carb. $19 on ebay for a new OEM stihl one in the box. The guy had 190 of them for some reason.
Now my sawmill and log splitter I feel like I'm cleaning the carb every year. They now have a fine chinese carb.

I'll give one of those cheapies a try. I've seen a couple of slightly different configurations for cable and hose hookup, going to have to try and match.
Thanks guys.

Paul, the one I got for co workers Stihl was made, a direct replacement, I can not find one for a Stihl 009L saw so they dont have them for everything. But the real popular stuff they do.
My advice to anyone using small power equipment, alcohol free fuel only, period. Find a source near you using http://www.pure-gas.org and if it sets for more than a year, treat it with stabil or another fuel treatment.
If you store it over winter with alkie fuel, you will have water in carb.

Thanks TMT. I've certainly seen the damage caused by alcohol, the float bowl in my oldest HF generator looks like it came off a sunken ship.
This carb I just rebuilt was clean as a whistle, couldn't find any debris. I know conventional carb design like the back of my hand but these things have always been a bit of a mystery beyond the needle and seat. Those fiber diaphragms and flapper valves under the covers do something.. maybe they wear out even if they don't appear bad.
Certainly not the cost savings of fixing the old ones. More of the mystery..and waiting around for new stuff they may or may not fit. But in this case it's just my neighbors cast off junk, no rush and good time to try the new carbs.
Ethanol free is hard to get around here. I do make it on occasion. But I left ethanol gas in my chainsaw a few months ago, figured I'd be using it soon. When I did, same thing, no fuel getting in. That one worked after a rebuild but no idea why. Again it appeared clean inside.
