I'm looking to attach a deer skull cap to a piece of wood. Problem is there is a lot of space between the curvature of the skull and the block of wood I need to attach it too. Ideally I'm looking for a putty like material that is like an adhesive and dries hard. Do they make such a product?

just run 2 long drywall screws from the backside into the skull base, that's what we did when I worked at a taxidermist.

It’s just the cap so the bone is only an eighth of an inch thick maybe more.

are you planning on covering the cap or just leaving it bare? Usually on a horn mount we would cover the cap with leather. Trying to get something to adhere on the backside of the skull will be a challenge.

I would glue a block of wood into he hollow space, cover the cap, then screw thru the display board into the block
