I'm gathering my logs, and and wondering if anyone has ever did 6x6 square timbers on a hunters cabin?
Will 6x6 be enough? Or should I get 8x8 milled instead?

Isn't it in part a question of how thick you want the walls? Thicker = more thermal mass and a cabin that will stay warmer with less wood (or whatever) burned to be warm, once it heats up.

You did call it a hunters cabin. Occasional use, not full time? My experience with log cabins that are used only once in a while in cold weather is that they take days to heat up and by that time I was ready to leave.

It will be getting used a lot between the cousin's
I have spent 33 days straight in an outfitter tent. Same place. Same group.
Is 6x6 adaquate? Or just go 8x8 before we start milling?

6” should be good. We have 6” , 3 sided logs. Warms up real nice. And we use it more in the winter than in summer. And it gets warm fast. And stays warm. In Ak.

Mine heats up in less than an hour and stays almost too hot, but it does get cold quickly without a fire burning.......
