So I was looking at a property in Northern VT, it is slopped and the soil reports show its pretty much all bedrock, the property is pretty much a small mountain. There are 2 somewhat level (about 10% slope) spots perfect for a cabin. Both of these spots are bedrock protruding from the ground. My question is what are options for building on that?
I am only asking about the foundation for a cabin, there will not be a sewer and water will come from a stream. I'm not looking for a lecture about underground plumbing problems or regulations, thanks! DSC_0055.JPG

I should mention the cabin will be around 12x20 I was considering putting it on deck blocks previously. Is it possible to lay rock dock, then pour gravel over and level and build on that? Or would concrete foundation be mandatory? are Piers and option if you can't dig due to bedrock?
Thnx again!

Clean up the rock. Drill into the solid rock Reziweld rebar Sonotube around the rebar Pour concrete in Sonotube Cure concrete and you are ready to build

Thank you! how do you recommend cleaning? I will not be able to bring heavy machinery up to the site without investing ton of time and money excavating a path uphill, and I'm not going to do that. I don't mind slow, hard, and tedious work by hand.

We did that exact thing. Our place is built on piers pinned to bedrock. Check out some of our videos, we show how we did it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHYMTcGUZqw&t=3s
