When I build my cabin I was thinking of drywalling the ceiling and painting it white then putting t&g on the walls. Reading past posts it seems the biggest problem is moisture/humidity with drywall. I came across this product here

Has anybody used one of these? Do they actually work? It senses the moisture and kicks off and on so I was thinking hooking it to a solar panel while I'm not there.

Yeah, I know someone with a cabin with drywall, and it definitely is musty. It's why we went with wood paneling everywhere. If you are going to do it, definitely look into a specialty product or humidity solution.

I used drywall in my cabin and bunkie, both unheated and summer use only. I have had no issues.

I really think that is location dependent. Our cabin neighbors have regular sheet rock for several years without problems.

I have T-11 siding as interior paneling, hard to remove mildewfrom rough surface. Will eventually replace or cover with damp-proof drywall, and paint . Painted drywall should be easier to wipe down occasionally.

Totally. And also dependent on cabin size, level of vapor lock, and what the exterior entries are like. Where we are, we get a lot of moisture.
