I am installing 5/8 plywood roof sheathing to my cabin. The cabin has 2x10 rafters 16 on center with a 12 pitch. The building is 16 feet wide by 32 long.
Any danger in sheathing one side at a time? Maybe I'm overthinking things but I'm wondering if weight on just one side of the rafters would be an issue.

Do one side then the next. It will go much faster that way.

That's my plan, but as I began installation it's pretty obvious that there's a lot of weight on only one side of the structure so I wanted to ask.

None at all, lay sideways, stager like bricks, lots of nails along joints and lots in the field. Use H clips. Sounds HD, ie the 5/8's especially at 16 in centers. Nice work, I love HD. ;D
Assume rafter and collar ties are all in place? Collar ties every 3rd rafter with 16" centers.

Why use H clips on 5/8 plywood with rafters 16" on center? Seems a bit odd, I can understand if the plywood was lighter, and the rafters spaced further apart.

Ever put pressure on a plywood butt joint with nothing behind it? Like walking on it? Its cheap, easy to do and impossible to add later. Its penny wise vs pound foolish or tripping over a dollar to pick up a nickel.

I used H-clips but I had 24 inch spacing with 5/8 . Probably wouldn't need them at 16 inch spacing , but like it was said they are pretty cheap.

H-clip also provides correct spacing between panels. Worth it in itself IMO

Well, I cant even walk on my 7/12 pitch metal roof, but with 16" OC rafters, I still used H clips.
I would say if you want to cheap out, skip the H clips and the money you save, maybe buy you a 12 pak of soda pop? $6.37

Neither my house, a large shed, or our cabin have H clips. House is over 45 years old, shed is 15 yrs and cabin 10. Shed and cabin have 7/16" OSB sheathing. House is plywood, not sure of thickness. 24" OC trusses for all three.
They have seen significant snow loads over the years. All of the roofs look fine. So, based on my experience, even if they were free, they're unneeded.

IRC Table R503.2.1.1(1) shows 5/8 only needs edge clips or blocking when the span is over 32 inches. However, most builders will still use them to make the panel spacing easy; 1/8" or as spec'd by panel mfg.
