it won't surprise you to know the actual builder is no longer in business. The rest of the building is very well made, other than a lack of flashing for the dormers (and the windows that the builder made himself without a thought about how they would function in that environment - being not a local he was unaware of the severity of the weather). I don't know if they just forgot to bring the flashing and since the site is incredibly remote and was on a huge time crunch, he could not get any -- or he never planned on installing any. The building was built down in the Toronto area then trucked up by them and barged out. Every time they came out it cost them a fortune so I am sure they never ever wanted to come out again. As it turned out, getting the supplies out was a huge deal since they did not have a barge - they didn't research the cost of getting the materials barged out and lost money on the whole deal.
