Hi everyone,
I want to convert one garage into a guest room sometime next year . I want to take out garage doors and install sliding glass patio doors. Is that something that could be done? What are the possible problems that I may encounter with this? I would like to go with Clera Windows and Doors ( https://www.clerawindows.com/ ) but I'm wondering about the quality of their products. Would it be better to go with a window/door company and pay a bit more?

The Garage Door is likely already at or above the 81" height and with appropriate header requirement, width should be at least 8' (typical door).

Sliding Doors are less secure & much less energy efficient (cooling & heating) that a double French Door while costing almost the same. As you intend to use this as a Guest Room + added privacy potential may be worth consideration, you may look at something such as these http://www.homedepot.com/p/JELD-WEN-72-in-x-80-in-White-Left-Hand-Inswing-French-Pati o-Door-with-Tilt-and-Raise-Blinds-H37797/202205203

I have one similar (Diff Brand & Rated for Canadian Climate) and it is a very nice setup, especially with the internal blinds that don't need cleaning and that don't swing around when you open close the doors. There is a Screen Kit as well that works a treat.
