So I have started clearing out an area on our property that will have beautiful mountain views and a nice size pond about 100 yards from the build site. We think we'd like to build something that is about 16x24 in size (with the longer part of the house having a big deck that looks out to the pond)
I have been trying to google and find some designs but not having much luck. Does anyone have any tips, suggestions, or even plans they wouldn't mind sharing? Ideally we want to make it affordable as we might end up building 3 (for rental properties) and was thinking of a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living room down, with a bedroom or two in the loft.
Thanks in advance for any ideas!!

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your project! Keep us posted.
Keep googling around and you will find a variety of plans to give you ideas.
Then start drawing yourself- a simple floor plan etc.
If you aren't experienced in this kind of thing, and you can't find a satisfactory plan elsewhere, you may need to hire an architect or other designer. If you have your own drawings when you approach them that helps a lot. Architects are expensive, but a lot of contractors do simple design and you might find someone willing to draw it up for you with correct lumber sizes etc.
Or if you know about this stuff you can get out the span tables yourself and design.
But it all starts from that initial floor plan.
Hope this helps.
