So I've been going back and forth on what type of foundation to go with. Knowing that the foundation is one of the most important choices and I want to get things going on the right foot (no pun intended.....okay, maybe a little).

1. Frost Wall
2. Footing Tube
3. Thermal Screw Piles

I've got quotes for them all. Frost wall being the most expensive to do, and might have an issue with concrete truck getting in there. (Meaning more money spent on road work too!)

Footing tube ( http://www.foottube.com/ )

I've heard some things things about these resisting frost heave unlike traditional sonotubes.

Thermal Screw Piles ( http://postech-foundations.com/thermal-piles/ )

The good about screw piles
- engineer report comes with them to provide inspectors
- will warranty against frost heave....they'll come fix if issues
- Done in one day. Install in morning, and start building in evening with no disturbance to ground.

The bad

- more expensive then tubes (not as expensive as frost wall)

As always, your thoughts and suggestions welcome !

The continuous perimeter foundation can handle horizontal forces which the others have a tough time with, it also handles gravity loads better.
