No snow here anymore but there is still ice on the lakes. I spent a couple days hauling lumber for a guest cabin to an island in Northern , MN. The other nice thing was using a snowmobile and sled to slide the lumber up the hill from the lake to the cabin site. All in all we saved a lot of boat trips and hard labor. It's a wonderful thing! I can't tell you how happy it makes me.

Yeah, We're looking at a relaxed build with fishing mixed in. I bought a nice 18' runabout today. all I have to haul in that is a few tools, the kids and fish.

Bet it was nice hauling all that lumber across the ice, instead of water...

Just wondering how thick/stable that ice is to haul loads over it??

Evidently it worked. Happy for you. Up in the Adk Mtns our li'l lake will freeze to 5' thick I'm told. Don't know for sure but one winter we had visitors, 5 friends each on their own sled, all parked in a tight 10' -15' circle on the lake.
I was nervous but they didn't seem to be.

It was still over two feet thick. The snow has melted off the top and made the ice lightly checked with cracks. I might have even drove the truck onto it, but the edges where there had been snow were slushy or had been on warmer days. Although we had a warmer winter, we had very little snow, so the ice got thick. There wasn't even any spring hole opening up near creek mouths. still all in all I'm glad it's done. If the snow had been still there, that would be tough too, so timing it everything.
I didn't take pictures, but last winter about this time I rode out to see the cabin site. Here's from that trip.
