Most of the advice on this forum applies to living part-time in a small dwelling. I'm looking to live full-time in a small dwelling (about 1000 sq. ft). I'm looking for a forum for the owner-builder who wants to live in the country in a smaller home. Any suggestions?

This forums has those also, or those who start out as part time and end up in their cabins full time.

I've lived in cabins full time for most of the past 25 years. I've built several, for myself, and also to sell.

I don't know of any specific to the aspect you mentioned. Whatever your questions and interests are, post them up. I'm sure it will generate discussion. Some of us have slightly different areas of focus or interest also. For you, its full time. For me, I love and am mainly interested in handbuilt type log cabins and work in particular. Others may have other specific areas of interest.

Our place is over 1000 sq. ft. and growing, with the full intention of living there full time with small children.Dont be too quick on passing this forum up.One of the things I appreciate about it is the wide range of building sizes, sites and styles, Many of which can be incorporated into a larger building with full time living.

Our place is 20 x 32, with the loft it is about 850 sq ft.

Totally off grid. Planning solar but running it with a pair of Hondas has been so incredibly simple and easy we have not been in a hurry to get it done. The less than 2 bucks a gallon gas as of late hasn't helped any sense of urgency, either.

Been living here since we built it, about a year and 1/2 and couldn't imagine living in anything larger.
