i've almost enclosed the area under my deck... but am a little stuck on how to close off the ends. I'd like to build doors on the ends, but I'd like to know how to attach wood to the cinder block wall, so that a door could attach to the the foundation?
Would you recommend using lag bolts to attach a vertical board to the outside of the foundation wall? This way the door could attach to the wall. I'm a little bit chicken to start drilling holes into the cinder block.
Thoughts?

You can use Tapcon screws in the cinder block to attach a 2x length of dimensional lumber. Tapcons hold very well in cement without the need for plugs. Usually the box of screws come with the correct size masonry bit to drill the holes.

If the block has grout in it, you can bore and then epoxy threaded rod in place, then bolt wood to the block. If the block is empty, this won't work. Large toggles might do the job, but I'd check the tapcons first. You might contact a block supplier to see what other gadgets are available for this, since you aren't the first. Let us know what you find.
