Code used to be 4' centers but was reduced to every rafter pair. I have no problem with 4' centers and doubling the connection strength per the table at those locations because the ridgeboard can normally act as a beam between those 4' locations. The trick is to get those tie connections solid (check the heeljoint table and at least double the connection strength)... and to satisfy the local inspector.
