Kitchen is almost done, very happy. Done very economically.

Kitchen on Craigslist for $100, which I had to sand, paint and replace some boards. $100 included sink which I had to refinish. Also included nice faucet.

Stove at thrift store, like new, for $60

Countertop and corrugated tin I bought at lowes.

Maybe give someone on forum some ideas.

Thanks for looking

Hi, I was wondering if you have enough space next to the sink to add another small cabinet? I think you will find having more room to place a dish rack or some more prep space to be beneficial, and you will not feel kind of "hemmed in" when the fridge is installed right next to the sink. Also, how did you have the sink refinished? Was it expensive? Is there a cabinet in the corner?

I might have to check into your suggestion on another cabinet next to sink. As far as refurbishing it. I did it myself. Cost was basically my time. I used body filler, epoxy primer, auto paint and then a few coats of clear all from my 11.99 spray gun I purchased from harbor freight. So far it is working great. I did notice I do not want to place anything super hot on surface.

Your kitchen looks beautiful! What a great bargain. I love the metal.

Hi. I was looking at your kitchen pic again (titled "almost done) and I'm wondering if there is any storage in the corner? There doesn't seem to be a cabinet, just an opening into a "dead" zone. At this point my suggestion is really annoying, but maybe build a cabinet that is just a set of open shelves and run it from the side of the stove right back into the corner and replaces the bank of drawers next to the stove. The bank of drawers could then go next to the sink. It seems a waste of space to create a corner that has no access or use, plus you'd have more prep area (you'd have to extend the countertop though on the sink side.
