Quoting: 10sne1 110v and made at lot of hot water using very little power. lots is a relative term,
water heater speed or capacity is a function of the wattage of the heater element. 110-120 vac elements are usually only 1500 watts with 2000 watts max while 220-240vac elements are around 4500 for normal and run on up to 6000 watts. no free lunch, no way to heat water cheaper or quicker, per volume of water, on 110-120 vac than on 220-240.

How many Watts to heat one gallon of water? Constants: One gallon of water weighs 8.337 lb. One BTU is needed to raise the temperature of one pound of water one degree F. 3.413 BTU = 1 watt-hour
What's the Temperature Rise? Incoming water at 50°F to 120°F outgoing is a 70°F rise.
Calculate: 8.337 lb of water x 70°F rise requires 583.59 BTU per gallon. 583.59 BTU per gallon/3.413 BTU watt-hours = 170.99 watts required to heat one gallon of water from 50°F to 120°F

heating water with sunshine is much more efficient if you use the solar heat to directly heat the water and skip the low efficiency of converting sunshine to electricity. pv panels are still only about 15% efficient. better to use the panle to run a water pump
