That was a half hour of incredulous laughing... I've posted the link on the Ford Raptor Forum. This thing has gone viral as people keep reposting on other forums. In the thread, someone mentioned that it had 10,000 people viewing it, at the same time. Gotta keep following it. Can't wait for rain, snow or wind...

Absolutely hilarious, I dont think I see a single phase done correctly, let alone, plumb, level or square. As far out of square as this thing is, what will he does the sheeting or more finish. Out of square, problems are compounded 10 fold or each step past the framing. Keep up updated. That was funny.

Actually, what was impressive is that he didn't cut a single piece of wood.

Yeah that's funny. Maybe on his internet they write "....old internet saying: measure nonce, cut nonce."

If someone on small-cabin could think of a way to get viral it could be good for the forum.!! hint hint. Like yankee said a lot of people like a boost in self esteem so there's your formula, real and a boost of feelgood. There used to have a magazine called national inquirer that was popular in the same way, don't have to live good yourself if you can live better when you see someone worse. Well lets be thankful now for permits and inspectors or there would be alot of these around and in your next door neighbors yard too.

No treated wood, studs secured to the "side" of the top plate (collapse) rafter on their sides, with a 48" OC. I cant find a single thing that is to "spec" or code.

See the ridge but joint, just floating out there, but no worry, he supported it on another section that is also floating (cantalever). Truly hilarious.

I have no idea how he plans on sheeting the sites or floor. Check out the window frame, its a parrallelogram or maybe a trapezoid.

you cant get anywhere listing what was done wrong theres no start and no end and it will be lucky if it has time to rot before falling down

with luck the city will make him take it down before the materials are ruined. Maybe somebody can use them, full length and full size boards theres a bit of good material there.

Every time I look at the thread and photos (I dont know why I cant stop looking at it) I find so much more repulsive.

Agreed, it will collapse long before it rots which wont be long.

The basics of light frame construction were 'hammered' out by builders over the last 150 years since the machine age gave us the ability to cut out studs cheaply. It's a building method that is the sum total of the wisdom of thousands of experienced people, all working for efficiency and low cost. How someone could actually attempt construction with absolutely no benefit of their experience and wisdom blows me away.

At first I thought it was a joke, but if you page through you see he 'completed' the 'building' and even put a nice looking coat of paint on it. Make sure you watch the high speed video of him working chaotically, set to classical music.

Apparently it's in BC, so the first snow should take care of the problem......

I was thinking, in complete disbelief, that this has got to be just a sick joke. But as the photos, pages and investment of lumber started to stack up and "progress" was made...my disbelief and laughter turned to horror and silent whimpering...

I feel sad for the wood, it deserved better than this. With this build, there can be no dignity (even for the OSB)!!!!

Toyota- I was looking for something that was NOT a code violation. But the codes don't tell you to put a top plate on top of the studs, they tell you you have to put two up there instead of one. They assume you know that the plate goes on top, not on the side of the stud.

But aside from codes (we're not in Kansas anymore, Toto) every bit of what he did just defies common sense. I guess 'common sense' doesn't necessarily include everyone, cause this guy has NONE when it comes to hammer and nails...

But, I bet his girlfriend thinks he's cute. Now, if you had to choose between having the sense to build a shed well and having an appreciative girlfriend, which would you choose?

Uh......I don't get it. What's wrong with it?

Erk.......snerk.......ha........heh.........

............HA HA HA HA HA...........

I'm impressed that he continued on with the sheathing and roofing. You just KNOW there was a long suffering son pressed into helping out.

"Dad....DAD! I don't think that's right.

"Shut up ! Just don't tell your mother".

Paging Mr. Holmes. Mr. Mike Holmes.....
