I have to remove the drainplug and drain it empty; drain all the hoses too, before it freezes. This is a procedure that slightly disturbs your post-winter-shower invigoration.

Not sure what you mean by "antifreeze in them" there is no antifreeze as far as I know. Maybe I should look again at the manual.....

I was under the impression that the EccoTemps were completely portable. Just unhook the water and take it inside. True?

TomChum...sorry, I read that on their website but I don't think every model was necessarily freeze proofed. Your model may not have antifreeze in it.

True. But if you unhook it and store it inside an unheated cabin, it could freeze, so you should drain the water out of it.

Good point. We always end up taking our water cooler back into town, and don't worry about running water in the winter as we draw from the lake.
