Take a look at the pics. I think it said this is supposed to be a do it
yourself project. How in the world would you cut the ends of
those timbers to fit like that ?
I cant even figure out how to make a jig for the regular interlocking Tennessee cabin style log ends ? ? ?

Lots of chisel work most likely. Ya' probably get real good at it after the first teo or three dozen.

This looks like a 1/2 dovetail joint where the builder cut in an extra locking notch. It doesn't take much work to cut a dovetail. Layout a minute or two, a rough cut to the line with a chainsaw and then clean up the joint with a slick. You can cut a dovetail in about 10 minutes. So as long as you have the timbers available, you can build very quickly.

I prefer the look of a the dovetail the extends a few inches beyond the wall.
