Hi folks
What do people use to remove wood smoke soot stains from painted walls? I think the paint is a latex semigloss on drywall.
The the soot is almost entirely from birch wood, no pine or soft wood.
I have read that dry stain removal pads work as does Krud Kutter.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks

I am not sure about Birch soot, I but Alder and Douglas fir but I just use 409 and wipe or even just cool clear water and wipe, if that doesn't do it maybe a light medium scotch bright scouring type pad.
I have Knotty Pine walls so the smoked look is what I call "Petina"!
