The pine T&G boards I've used for my cabin skin have a fair few knots, some of which have cracked. Yesterday I noticed I could see daylight through one of them. How should such cracks be treated. (small - 1" knot with crack max 1mm and 40mm long)

What to use for a fix? Wood-Tex makes a waterproof wood filler. Possibly a caulk... is the exterior stained or painted. Some caulks can be painted but won't take stain. ???
That's why it is best to apply any material used as siding over tar paper or house wrap that is applied over sheathing.
