Has anyone out there ever purchased a prefab shedand then converted it to "cabin living space" I see 12' x 20' structures with 7' walls for 5K... it seems like a quick way to get a structure up.

We bought a 10 x 16 w/ 6ft walls for our first piece in Idaho. I want to say it was about $2500-3000. We insulated, T&G pine, and wired it. We put in some cheap Home Depot cabinets, and a countertop. We also had a deck and roof extension added later. I do not really know the total amount we spent. Probably close to $8k with the deck and such. It was easy to heat, Secure, and cozy.
Was a great starting point for us.

Here is a pic when my wife stayed there with her brother a couple years ago.

I'm doing it also. I went with a 12x24 Lofted Casita style cabin.

We bought a 10x16 prefab cedar shed kit. We added 3 foot pony walls to the top of the walls and picked up some extra cedar siding. We bought polar board and building wrap to put under the siding and added the door and windows:)
