Hi There,
Could you guys tell me if it is feasible to build a foundation of 12ft x 20ft on top of concrete deck blocks spaced 6ft apart?
I see that this method works good on a small cabin and am wondering if it would work just as well on a larger one.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I am not a construction expert, but here are my two cents:
1). I often see small and mid-size cottages built on concrete blocks in my area, so technically it is feasible.
2). In most areas constructing 12x20 ft cabin will require a building permit - if this is the case, you should consult with the local permit office whether such structure type will be approved.
Good luck with your project. Keep us posted.

I'm no expert either, but it depends on the soil type, building type, and frost level. The blocks may be placed on footings that extend below the frostline to prevent frost heave. Some foundations use concrete footings, but I used rammed gravel extending about 1 foot below the surface, and topped with a 200 pound pre-cast concrete slab, sold as a "mobile home foundation block" then 6x6 pressure treated timbers on top of that. I used 12 such "piers" to support a 16x24 cabin in an area known to have minimal frost heave.
