I have been looking on Craigslist for over a year and have had no luck, and I do not want to spend upwards of 1000 dollars either for new ones. I need about 10 feet of base cabinets, a corner base, and 2 or 3 wall cabinets. Any links or advice on how to build them. They do not have to have the nice doors, I am looking for something that I could build with a circular saw. I have a router but I want to have a fairly simple project for once.

Widen ur geographic search on craigslist. I have found a TON of stuff that way.
Talk to local remodelers or mobile home dealers. See if u can strip out/salvage an existing kitchen from a home or apartment that is being remodeled or gutted. That's where mine came from.
I had to rebuild and/or reinforce some of my cabinetry but I would rather do that than build from scratch.

this is not a good pic , but it is all i have on hand .I made these with soft wood frames , 5\8 x12 partical board shelving inside, and hardwood pallit board face frames. made them at home in 3 sections and took them to the cabin!! mostly scrap and elbow grease. i think about 300$ total including a 150 $ arborite top .

Do you have a Habitat for Humanity ReStore near you? That's where we found ours. I only needed a small amount of base cabinetry but I got 3 pieces (one end cap with drawer and cabinet, one narrow cabinet with drawer and cabinet, and one lazy susan corner unit) for less than $80 total. We just did open shelving above. I painted them white so they would match better and glued beadboard on the front of one so it would match the fronts of the other 2. Matching hardware makes them look like a set. Oh- and we just built the sink surround with 2x4s and used a curtain in front.

These are good suggestions and sometimes you just have to get creative. We built a long section using rough sawn lumber that we used for our walls. Removed the glass from some old windows for the doors. Put chicken wire found for free in the doors, a wide barn board for the counter, and we cut down a couple old turned post for the edges. New hinges and a pack of spoons bent to make handles- it was dirt cheap and has the look we were going for. The top is backed with the backside of leftover laminate flooring and the bottom I will put a curtain behind the doors when we are done making so much saw dust. On our other wall I bought a $5.00 bookcase headboard from an estate sale and painted it to match. We bought one cabinet at a reuse shop for $29.00 that has 4 nice drawers in it. We will build a shelf under the counter for a small microwave and have a section under the counter for coolers-that will have a curtain across it. Open shelving above is a great way to save $$. When you see stuff on Craigslist keep in mind the different ways items can be altered to turn them into what you need. Good luck!

LOVE those cabinets with chicken wire and the spoon pulls, trollbridge!! And that color is fabulous. How deep are the cabinets? They look pretty shallow.

That cabinet is shallow-only about 13". We designed it to be long but narrow to fit the space. It is just wide enough for our pans and paper products. That stuff will go on the bottom so we don't have to see it(curtain will cover). The top will be all display really. The other side of the kitchen will have normal depth counter and cabinets.

IKEA is your answer.
That is, if you have one near you.

We lucked out and got ours for our shanty from a university retrofit via our local reno store. Reno stores/thrift stores are the best for tracking down cheap cabinets if you have the patience.

One thing to consider is how easy are the cabinets to clean when the mice, squirrels etc take up residence. In that case the simpler the better. After our episode we now store all our gear in plastic containers when not it use.

If you have a "building 9" in your area, they sell nice raised panel doors for about 10 bucks each. The cabinet boxes and frames are easy to make!

Hope this helps
