Hey all,
we have a small cabin in cold climate that doesn't have a vapor barrier between the subfloor and joists. Currently insulated with R40 Batts. Should I consider adding rigid foam on the bottom side of the floor or not worry too much about condensation?

You need to add something to the bottom so rodents and the weather dont damage the fiberglass or foam. Even if its skirted tou should protect the insulation.
I personally dont like skirting. It's making a Inviting environment for animals and in all reality your not going to gain any ground thermal mass in the winter.

Most of the heat, and vapor goes up. Imo, you would probably be best to use a v-barrier on the build but after the fact let it go.

R40 batts should be able to keep the underside of the floor sheathing warm enough to prevent condensation once the cabin interior is warmed up
Vapor barriers belong on the warm side. You are correct in thinking that in your cold climate that would be on the inside of the floor. Adding rigid foam on the bottom could be a bad idea as foam sheets make a pretty good vapor barrier and would be on the wrong side.
I think I would leave it all as is right now. If I was concerned I might pull off a random panel from underneath and inspect the condition of the sub-flooring with the insulation batt pulled aside.
Install a sheet vinyl flooring inside? That would be a vapor barrier. Install ceramic tile with it installed over cement fiber board with a waterproof membrane under the c-f board and over the subfloor.

Quoting: ICC Install a sheet vinyl flooring inside? That would be a vapor barrier. This was going to be my next question. That vinyl click lock flooring looks nice, is easy to install, cheap and very scratch resistant..and water proof.

the cabin just has 2x8 flooring (that should probably be replaced). Vinyl flooring is a great suggestion
