Good Day,
I am building a log cabin and using spruce trees for the construction but also have a number of poplar trees that were in removed from the site and would like to know where I could best use those in the construction.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Popular is really only best for trim. You will still need facia, sofit, interior and exterior window and door trim. It starts to add up when you look at the cost of 1in thick boards.

Thanks for the reply. What about poplar for interior stuff away from the elements. Like boards for the ceiling.

Poplar is fine for the interior. It can be fine cabinet wood. But don't bother trying to stain it; it can have greenish coloring and can stain very unevenly. Great wood to paint though.
