I'll look into it.

My original concept was to put up post and beam so that the wall sections would be lighter.

Then I looked at the prices for posts and beams. I figured that a lot of the lighter (thinner) boards are just as expensive as 2x4s. If I'm going to use 2x4s for the wall sections, then I may as well make them structural and skip the posts all together.

But I'll investigate the modified P&B - maybe I can make the numbers work better.

Yeah, doing a BOM for your "final" design with each method sometimes yields some surprising results. Sometimes even making the building a little bigger can save you money in materials... go figure.
