Hi, we are considering buying this old log cabin in Sweden, but not sure if it is too big a task to raise the cabin using hydraulic jacks, to put new stones under which the cabin can rest on. Can it be done realistically? There are no sewer or water connection under the house, electricity connection is on the side of it. What do you think, should we go for it or leave it alone?

Go for it. Bigger structures have been jacked up. Would like to see progress pics if you go forward. Do you have four jacks? It has to go up level.

Unless you have lifted buildings before or are going to hire someone that changes the picture. There will have to be a lot of bracing and removing certain things like glass for instance. I've been involved with airbags to lift which is limited but pretty gentle if correctly done. Things can go terribly bad too not only for the building but anyone near it as well.
What you are proposing seems to be a "straight lift" and nothing more, in order to fix the stone work foundation. That all will depend on the substructure house is to determine the best way to lift it, then support it while work is being done and then setting back into place. Companies everywhere do this kind of work, they know what to look for and what to do, to do it right, so it would be wise to investigate that path first.
hope it helps.

Just curious- what’s wrong with the foundation? Maybe there’s another fix…

that looks assume i have fixed a few buildings , the structure of he building looks fair you need to dig spots on corners and along wall under first beam than star jacking and supporting those spots with small pored pillars around cabin than when its supported and level you can digg the rest out and pour a footing, not much money but a lot off work
