Planning on building a 16x24 cabin with Rafter spanning across the 24 foot length with beam support in the middle at the 12 foot mark. Roof pitch will be 4/12 with the smallest wall being 8 foot and the tallest 16.
What rafter size should I use? Knowing that they will be 24 oc with a 45 PSF snow load during winter.
Should I go with true size 2x10 or 2x12? Or even bigger?
Thanks for your help.

If you are going to run the long way (which I did on an '83 build), imo (but Im no engineer), you should consider something like queen posts and cross-beams arrangement to support the rafters mod-span.

When sizing your center beam, note that it will be carrying half the weight and either wall one quarter of the weight.

I think this is the span calculator I used to use.
