Building on limestone

I have a property on Manitoulin Island where I would like to build a cabin on. The cabin location would be on top of a bluff which is limestone. For cost reasons, I would like to build it using piers and beams. I was thinking of drilling holes in the limestone, epoxy in some rebars and then pour cement piers with the rebars in the cement. Then, of course attach the beams on top for the floor. Is this acceptable?

Have you talked to the local building department or code enforcement?

No, I haven't. I was hoping to get some ideas/comments here first.
