Nearly had a catastrophe recently at the cabin with a two burner propane stove. As I attempted to light the thing to heat water, the regulator failed spewing a propane plume into the air. I was standing there with a match in hand when it happened. My first reaction was to fling the stove as far as possible. I then waited nervously for several minutes while the 1 lb propane tank emptied into the air. I was fearing an explosion or something. The stove was Northwest brand purchased at WallyWorld.

Regulator failed or the can was screwed on crooked? I had a coleman roadtrip grill once. It lasted about 1.5lb of propane. The last time I screwed the can on crooked to the aluminum regulator and that's all she wrote on that "grill".
Older coleman stuff was alot higher quality than they had sold in the last 10yrs. Find and older stove and make sure your threads arnt rusty at all.
