He rather she was about a foot wide not a monster she layed her eggs in the field just north my camp. I marked the nest will try to get a photo of the wee ones if i can . Snappers are known to be the most dangerous things in the great lakes , seems kinda tame compaired to the foaks in the south what with there snakes and gators , still i give them all the room they want . many of my friends like to eat them but i'm not a fan . they can be taken legaly in the fall.. they say there is 7 kinds of meat in a snapper..

Leaving tomorrow after 6 nights here. It's been 80 degrees during the day but the cabin never gets more than 65 degrees. This is better than I ever imagined. Logs may take a long time to heat up in the wintertime, but they sure are nice in the summertime. A view from my tiny loft before a nice afternoon nap......

I got a few pictures but didn't have the card with so this is all I got. The old cabin is off my land about 50 feet.

And this I found as I was hiking around

it's dark.... Very dark in fact... The night is cold but the fire is warm... Wish I had brought a jacket instead of a sweatshirt... Barometer is high, the sky is clear and I can a truck on the road every now and then.... Picture it in your mind, I will get pics of the fall colors when the big light in the sky comes on again tomorrow

It's a brisk 48 degrees here at my cabin this morning. Been working on the trim this weekend. Also got 4 rolls of insulation up. I just love being here. Why didn't I build one of these years ago?

T williams Just don't make him mad, sneak a piece of peanutbutter bread out there and watch him, it take he an hour to lick all the sticky off. but don't let him know where it came from.

We arrived just in time to snap this photo of the sunset on our lake. It was a longish trip; we stopped halfway to meet up with friends for lunch and you know how that goes...three hours later we were back on the road. It was a good distraction if I might say so. They are good friends!

I love the old Ski-doo. I have one like that, but I need to spend some time getting it fixed up.
