Hi there, I'd like to introduce myself before starting a barrage of questions . We have an off-grid property in north central Oregon where we have enjoyed for years staying in the very rustic cabin that was built around 1973. Over the years it was made to have running water (hot even!) and had a very simple 12V solar system (not much power for conveniences; basically lights and the occasional vacuum cleaner). Well during summer 2018 we lost the cabin (and some other small structures) to a wildfire. We have some insurance money to rebuild and we're about to get started. It will stay off grid and since we're starting from the ground up, I'm hoping to make some improvements to some of the systems.
So I'll be shooting out some questions about tips for our build including water/winterizing, propane vs solar power, and heat/insulation.
Thanks in advance for any help and if I'm missing something that's been covered before and didn't find in a search, I won't be insulted if you just point me to that.
Cheers all!
