I am turning my 30 year dream of building a hand-hewn rustic cabin, into real-time planning. I have done much planning for each stage of construction but would love to hear anyone else’s input/insight into this process from foundation up! I will not be living in my cabin, it will be near my house. Size is not yet determined exactly but will be less than 500 sq ft. Want a loft also. Anyone have pics that would be similar or experience/advice?
Thanks in advance!!

I had my Amish neighbor build me a small sleeping cabin near my small cabin so I can have guests up here. Having it be made of logs was tough so we opted to build a regular structure and put log cabin siding on it. He cut some trees from my property for beams and cross beams and I was able to reuse some old cedar and redwood siding from my house in town. It is 14 x 20 and has an open front porch and screened in/glassed in back porch. No electric and will have a wood burning stove when Old Man Covid decides to leave us alone.

Dunno how long this link will be good, but there are some photos of our cabin on here (along with a lot of other stuff!). 20x24 for the main cabin and 12x16 for the cabinette. The main structure was built in 2013, so look at that batch first.
