The "official" name is: Song Of The Paddle Lodge. A name that any Canadian canoeist would recognize, but mostly we just call it the cabin or the shack.

I want to name our place "Bear-in-Mind" but the wife has other ideas. It's been 5-6 years now and still no christening.

Ours was "the nest"
The littlest of our offspring started calling it "the little house" and it stuck, so it is now our little house:)

We're thinking 'the Bunny Ranch" (and no, we're not in Nevada:-) or Rock'n'roll Ranch, due to the large number of rocks on our place and the fact that we're located in Earthquake Valley :-)

I have about 80 acres. The first structure was a galvanized corrugated steel skinned "Hunting Blind" (carpeted, heated that'll sleep one in a cot and two in hammocks and accommodate two comfortably for shooting) clearly visible from the road to announce our presence.
I cleared another site on a ridge and will build on it this fall. It'll be an 8' X 12' "Bunkhouse" that will sit on 4' of cinder block with space underneath for batteries and a cistern for water.
Finally, we're looking to build a 30 x 30 cottage in the coming years on a portion that is on the crest of a butte with a commanding view and move out permanently to "Highpoint".

We have yet to start the cabin part of our adventure, but it's in the works. Our land is 3.14 acres and we were thinking of naming it something with the Greek letter Pi in the name. We have several blackberry patches and I was leaning towards "Blackberry Pi" except using the actual Greek letter. Maybe something better will come along during our adventure. รท)

I spent the last couple days up at Badger's Hollow falling dead lodgepole. I rented a bocat and hauled it up too, to finally push a lane in for access. I've got an easement across a piece of old timber company property. I've been aching to get this done and I can finally say - the land has tangible, rubber to the road access. I've still got a long ways to go to attain a cabin, but the journey starts with but a step.

Going to call ours "Pooh Corner" Now that we found another pack rat nest and the gallons of poop that goes with it. Every crack and crevice of this old place had poop in it. Yeah, Pooh Corner seems to fit.
