I think, being the father of pre-teen childern at 50, you have the edge of mental maturity, yet not past your physical prime.
Our 8 and 11 yr old grandkids just slay me with their mental prowess. They are old enough to banter with me, and challenge everything before them.
We watch old movies together on Saturday nights, and the eldest supplies his own commentary in his attempt to figure out the plot. The latest being 'Double Indemnity" with McMurry & Stanwick.
His got distracted when Fred used the phone.
"What's he doin' with that phone?"
We had to explain that in those days, phones had dials.......
