She's good

Settled, for the time, in Klamath Falls
Happy in her apartment
Got some social things going
Had a couple operations
Home now

I believe her lot is up for sale

That's weird that Steve_S just posted this question. Yesterday I was going into one of the big box stores and there were quite a few pallets of wood pellets for pellet stoves lined up outside. Made me wonder the same things Steve asked since Julie had been looking intently at pellet stoves at one time.

He's a moderator at CountryPlans and still posts there. Don_P posts there also.

I like it!! You make me better than real life does. I'm either at work, the mountain, or at sea.

I'm keeping an eye on the forum to make sure you're behaving but not flapping my lips much.

Have a wonderful Fall. (the season that is)

Hi folks- still on planet earth, since my rocket ship was not approved for take-off by NASA. Been preoccupied with things, including my father passing. Still working on the cabin. I’ll check in from time to time. Hope everyone is well. Hope to hear from you Julie.

Lately I’ve been working on various engines to use up at the cabin. First is a little Briggs and Stratton engine that goes to a 1947 Apex gas powered washing machine, pictured below. Secondly several older Wisconsin engines for powering an older ditchwitch trencher, and also for fire prep.

As you may have seen from the recent NorCal fires, the fire department may not be able to get to your place in time to fight the fire. So, I’m planning to put in extra water tanks, gas powered fire pumps and hoses etc. long range plan.

Best to all

Somebody whispered in my ear about this. I am fine. A few things have happened. I have reduced the number of hours spent online in forums somewhat. Due to changing interests that has meant shifting some forums into a lower gear while bringing new ones online. The only cabin place I hang is countryplans and not as much as I used to there either. A lifestyle change if you will.

I have also been spending more time doing "real" things. We've traveled. Two weeks in Nova Scotia & PEI this summer, 2 weeks in MT, ID, AB. Three weeks in Sweden and Norway. Things like making bookshelving and furniture for our son's home. Things like being politically more active on a local and state level. Things like building more custom flashlights. Things like building a street rod, an old but unrealized dream! A '58 Volvo PV544 with a new B230/B234 mix of an engine; 4 cylinders, 2.3 liter, DOHC, 16 valve and turbocharged; frame and suspension mods, a real time gobbler. Take care and have fun.

I get the sense the MtnDon accomplishes more in a day than I do in a month.

Hey guys!
Two little birdies, lol, told me you were inquiring so I thought I'd pop in. I did in the Spring but since I'm no longer living in my shabin, I haven't had much to say! But I do think of y'all often!

Yep, I'm renting a little place in town for now. My place is up for sale and I'll buy something else when it does sell. I've required a lot of medical care so living in/close to town is a necessity..If anyone knows someone who wants a lovely property in Oregon, let me know, lol.

But, hey, I'm rather proud of myself for living off-grid in a tiny cabin during a bad winter by myself and living to tell the tale, lol. Another La Nina winter is coming to the PNW. I'm glad to have natural gas heat and regular electricity/plumbing for this one!

Life is really good, aside from 3 surgeries. I've made many friends, am volunteering, and doing some writing when I can. And it's Oregon so it's just so beautiful. I enjoy long walks with my dog and do go out to the shabin until it's sold.

Thanks for thinking of me! I'll pop in if you don't mind a small city-dweller!

Steve_S, big hugs to YOU! How are you doing?

bldginsp Did you get to OR this summer? Was thinkung of you with these fires. There was a big one at Pelican Butte near my land. Didn't threaten the shabin but the smoke was AWFUL.

Julie ! Good to hear from ya, you'd been in the back of my mind for some time and was starting to get curious / concerned / worried.

I'm doing okay as far as things can be expected... working on the shack slowly (much slower than before as my health decided to act as regulator / throttle - governor) but progressing along with the schedule chucked by the wayside. I hafta admit I 'hate' being "forced" to slow my pace & progress by things beyond my control... seems like every week something else pops up so it's been quite a curve to adjust but I'm sorta there I guess.... but it does make for a huge amount of frustration too...

Hopefully you'll be able to find a nice little corner close to town but not in the "thick of it" where you will be able to realize some of your projects and do what's good for Julie and what benefits Julie. You might still be able to pull it off, never give up the effort & hope for the potentials, we never know what's just around the next corner. Take it easy and be careful and most certainly pop in and say Howdie once in a while.
BIG HUGS & a squoosh for good measure
