Hi I read somewhere that if you push a stick into the ground and point it towards sun you can find directions with its shadow. I can not remember if it was east or west (which would make a big difference). I searched internet for the past 2 hours and oddly there is nothing about it. Does anybody know the answer? thanks in advance.

try this #2 helps you form an east-west line. You work from that.... the description is for northern hemisphere.

I know that one. We are settling a bet and both idiots involve in the bet have a compass each but can't wait till the morning to experiment with it.

First mark is W last mark is E with your back to the sun. Use a long stick at least 3'.
