Hi Neb! I believe you asked on one of your carving threads if anyone else did woodcarvings. I did a lot of stone and wood carving in the old days before my hands went south. Now I just paint paintings. I was cleaning my studio over the holidays and came across these old photos in a portfolio. Thought you might like to see them. The head is from walnut. I used stain made from walnut husks to darken his hair and beard. The fish/bird was fun for me. I used two knots I found in the original piece of oak for the fish and bird's eyes.
