Great! We did an onsite build 16x32. We had it put on piers as per flood easement for the lake. We will next rock around the piers then build a full covered porch on the front and back. Add windows, French doors and start the inside. It's an exciting process, but not a lot of time to invest. Hopefully have it mostly complete by the holidays. Congratulations

Thank you! I already added corner studs for the flat ceilings under the lofts and for the long walls. I made up truss plates for the gambrel trusses to strengthen them and prevent the strong ties from walking themselves out over time, and now I'm cutting truss extensions to increase the depth to account for 3/4" foam sheathing in addition to 5.5" of Roxul rockwool insulation.
I will not be wiring up the gambrel roof, as I have decided to use puck lights with rechargeable batteries for the gambrel ceilings in the loft areas, as that will be storage areas, primarily.

The cabin was anchored the week after it was delivered, as the driver's anchor machine was broken.

I put up these truss plates, 48 of them! The first day was rough, no knowing how to leverage my body against the trusses behind me to drive the screws in a lot more easily, but the second day, I figured it out and was able to go running after each day of truss-plate installing, about 16 per day.

I installed the truss frame extensions a few weeks back.
I installed the pink foam insulation in between the truss frames in the roof, and now, I'm taping them in with metallized tape before moving to the end wall frameouts for the loft areas.

We haven't started the inside yet. Working on the rock around the block, next porches and windows. Slow go but coming along. Got a great deal on a tub this week. $150. Keep us up to date.

We also live in Texas, hour and half from College Station.
We did the shed to cabin and have been very pleased with it.
Our story is under the title: 16x28 Ulrich to become cabin.
It took about a year and a half to complete the inside, still have little things to finish. But we stayed in it comfortably on the weekends during the build.
Wish you great success on your sweet cabin.
