Went to the cabin early to do some fishing and just enjoy the day. The geese were flying right over top of me the beaver were swimming where I wanted to fish. They slap their tail down on the water and what a sound. There was a bald eagle flying up above looking for it's next meal. The turkeys were talking never seen them but they were close. The pheasants were cackling and what a sound they can make. The mule deer were up behind me grazing s they walked. The pelicans were down stream have breakfast. The birds were talkative as the day began. The sound of the water moving wants me to fall asleep. What a great world we have in cabin live and everyday is paradise.

I'm wit youze. all blessings for this paradise.

there are an unusual number of birds this year in a good way. the redwings are nesting for the first time on my side of the creek in some numbers. i've seen at least two new species (yellow warbler and meadowlark) that seem to be nesting close by as well as more of all the usual suspects.

and what a racket the birds made last night. i was rocking the tunes with supper and they drowned out the stereo so I turned it off and just listened. as the dark deepened the birds gave way to frogs. they were even louder.

the two bitterns (least and american) have been a coo-coo-coo and galumping. haven't seen 'em yet, but boy can you hear 'em. the least bittern (endangered) seems to have a new member nesting locally. nice.

but my favorite was the yellow warbler. saw him/her as I got out of the shower carefully cleaning the bushes outside the window, up each branch picking off bugs and caterpillars. how cool to think that he has been cleaning his way north from South America where he winters. All the way up through Mexico, the US, and now into Canada.

what a bold adventurer.

I have spent the last 3 mornings fishing at the cabin. This guy has been there each day and every time the fish slap the water here he comes. When I cleaned the fish he was right there to have the left overs. He would have his mouth wide open and catch the waste. Lol I have never seen anything like it! Have fun.
