I haven't tried the box and was going to this last year until I found the wire cage version that I have used that works pretty well and you can plant all of your potatoes at one time. The box you have to fill slowly as the plants grows. The wire cage version you place straw along the outer rim and then plant the potatoes every foot or so up as you fill with dirt. The plants will come out the side of the cage. They do produce a good portion of taters. and save a lot of room. Here is link to a site that shows how to build one if you are interested.

I used a burlap bag... same concept.. but, as one poster mentioned, it is not worth the hassle due to the low cost of potatoes.
