Thanks upndown, I built the cabin about 10 years ago before the social media craze and didn't take many pics. You're right about the cold...it gets nasty up here.

I didn't get a chance to work on my cabin this week, but I was in the area and took a picture of how it looks right now. I'm waiting on the rain to stop so I can pressure wash the siding and get some CWP on it. This rain has been KILLING me...

I was cutting some wood behind the cabin yesterday and got a photo of my shop roof with the cement pond full.
There was once a house here. A torrential rain back in '66 loosened a dirt logging road bridge above, it slid down and took the house out. My shop is built on the old foundation. The house sat above what you see, there was a deck in back, the pond held fish and there was a rock waterfall coming down the gully.
I wouldn't mind putting some fish in there, if they would survive and not attract varmints. My shop roof/dance floor has a 20 mil PVC membrane over the plywood. It's supposed to be UV resistant but I put that old blue tarp over it anyway until I figure something permanent to protect it, not sure what. Cheapo HF solar kit keep tractor batts charged.

Summer and winter. Built in the 1920s, in a camp community that my great grandfather was one of the founders of. This wasn't his place, nor is it the one I grew up in, but we've made it our own. Cabin_exterior_DSC01.jpg

That's a "catio!" We have enclosed it with wire fencing (black, doesn't stand out) and have a cat door in the door to the balcony so our cats can get out there.... cat boxes out there and perches for them. Funny the real views are off the other side, not sure why the OB put that on there.... but it does add to the charm.
I'll try to dig up interior pictures... know I have some someplace.

We staked 20 acres of remote land and built this log cabin. 16x24. I hope to be able to get out this weekend if the snow holds. We bought 200 pine tongue n groove boards to finish the ceiling in the upstairs. We have the knotty pine for the kitchen cabinets there . We would also like to get the inside all sanded and a clear topcoat put on the logs. Then I want to make doors for the pantry and storage shelfs so that everything is closed up. I have the lumber there to build a storage shed for the wheelers so the bears don't eat them. I also have a small air conditioner that is to be mounted on the side of the insulated generator shed. It will also work as a walk in cooler during moose hunting season. Hopefully we will have enough room to get a small freezer out there on this freight run too. It will serve as a refrigerator/ freezer. We should be able to process n freeze a moose out there and not worry about getting it on a plane to town. Our cabin is remote and getting all the supplies n materials there is kinda tricky. But once there the rewards of being remote kick in the extra effort is well worth it. Eventually the upstairs will be finished out as a couple bedrooms. We like having the space downstairs for our play, living the dream room. And the views are great if you like rugged mountains, some really big rugged mountains Our cabin

Thanks Nobadays. The cabin was really dark and dated before. I may have overcompensated with the white but I like it bright. You can see the before pictures in this thread.

Thanks guys
Cabin size is as follows;
28W x 30L
We have 2 bedrooms and a full bathroom with shower etc
We also have the loft area where we have another 2 beds and that measures 28W x 12L (accessed by a pull down ladder, which is totally out the way when not in use)
And our deck is around 28W x 8L
Everything is off grid and powered by solar with a back up generator/run the well
We built it around 3 years ago, up in the Adirondacks
And a number of guys on here helped big time with a number of solar issues I was having and helped me sort it out!
