Have every intention (short of kicking the bucket) of being full time on property & in Cabin 7/24 by July 1st 2015. Had absolutely enough of "urbanism" even in the tiny village I'm in temporarily over the winter.
Good luck to both of you as well... We are all headed in better directions.

We have lived in our cabin full time since 2008, except for short term winter vacations to get some sun. It gets better and better all the time. So much so, that I hate the vacations. - Margy

I have lived in my cabin since 2004. I live alone about 5 miles off a main road. It was our deer camp for years. When I retired, I moved in. Hand pump inside for my well, Bakers Choice wood cookstove, solar power for lights, fridge, and big freezer. Wood stove for heat. NO TV. Dug a rootcellar the first year here. I hunt, fish, trap, garden, find mushrooms and fiddleheads. Also take pictures.Never been happier. . No cell service either.

I tip my hat to you full time cabin folks. I believe I could do it but my wife would never try it. That is fine with me and I spend all the time there that I want.
I see some new comers and I welcome you.

We have lived at our cabin for 13 years, it was 960 sq ft it is now 2700. Had to make room for our grandkids to come and visit. No grid power, 6500 ft elevation, we installed solar panels, wind generator, inverters, back up diesel generator. Some people say that we have it made, but living in the wilderness has it's drawbacks. We do have phone service but no cell service. George
