Seems like there are tons of folks from Ohio. Let us know what counties we have represented!

I like to call Vinton Co "Hocking Hills low rent district". Hocking is a destination for many Ohioans (and a few others) with many cabin rentals, fine dining, and of course, crowds. Nary a traffic jam in Vinton Co in the fall, save for deer gun season

Ha, I thought about starting the same thread. Adams County, mostly by chance, I think I looked at land in at least 6 counties. I think you should all add pictures of your land or cabin to this thread as well. I will as soon as I'm on my computer.

Brown County, SW Ohio. I drive 40 miles to work in Cincinnati. Here is picture, cabin is 13 x 9. We put in electricity but there isn't running water unless it runs out of a jug.
Also you can see inside. IMG2013030600448.j.jpg

Nice place! Was it expensive to run electricity?

Our house is in Cuyahoga. I grew up in Geauga, my wife in Lorain.
But we have 30 acres in Wirt county, WV and that's where our heart is.
A couple projects have gotten in the way, but we still plan on putting up a 12x12 down there this year to supplement the travel trailer.
Usually for a project like this, I have plenty of time but no money. This time, I have all the funds set aside, but can't find the time.

Hi Smawgunner, sorry to be slow to reply.
I paid a fellow about $1000 to put in the electricity and get the permit. He also put in a ceiling and cheapie walls (wood panels laid sideways to look like logs), also a door and insulation, $2000 more. It was all well worth it and the place looks better and I can close the door.
The floor is concrete which isn't the long term plan, but with 5 dogs this is not the worst thing for now.
The air is fresh, the birds sing for us every morning and night, and it's quiet. The stars!
I've never been so happy in all my life. I'm 56.

Nice. That is some rugged country in Adams co. I wish I had pine/cedar on my land.

I really love it there. It gets a bad rap deservedly so I'm some areas, but other areas are really nice and well kept. I love the cedars (actually Juniperus Virginiana). I have a lot of hardwoods too but we tend to hang out near the Juniperus because it has been recently cleared. I have 46 acres down a long lane, it's very quiet, and private, can't see any neighbors. Uploaded another picture taken from cabin foundation.
