I have a list of a few things I want to do at my cabin and I want to do them BEFORE spring so I can enjoy it, but can't because it's too cold. It's driving me crazy! OCD does that to you!

Move to the Western Washington if you want mild winters, this one is driving me bats because there is no storms just blaah, mild weather, I was prepared for the storms and cold and snow and we have had zip!

Just watching the snowpack and counting the days here in southern Idaho.
It's a dry year so far. Hope we get another couple feet of snow. But the more snow we get the later it is getting into the cabin in the spring.

it's been a dry winter here in Minnesota too, only 1 real snowfall over an inch so far this season. Just about down to bare ground now.

We have had a few little dusting lately but we need another dumping here in Wisconsin! I always say there is no point putting up with the cold temps if there isn't enough snow to play in

40 inches over the last week on the Bruce Pennisula (Ontario) and apparently 40 f plus on Weds?>>>>

Groingo: Didn't you like the 10 straight days of fog? It is nicer now that the rains have returned and the snow level has dropped to 1500 feet.

I'm out here on the internet for my weekly trip to the internet hotspot at a truck stop, got a buddy who gives me a ride on his way to work (otherwise i gotta walk or bike out this far). try to avoid cabin fever by making a weekly trip to the internet. otherwise its just sitting by the woodstove in my skivies since my cabin gets to 90 degrees. or if its daylight out I'm working in the woods cutting firewood, fence poles, lumber logs, logs afor shingles, logs and poles for chairs, and trapping tree rats.
every day i wake to dry fruit and donuts, fritters, pancakes, or potatoes n canned bacon, followed by hours of either work in the woods or studying stuff, then diner of canned or dried stuff cooked as a chilly or stew with a soda bread. then a couple hours of whatever before i sleep to repeat it tomorrow.
gets rather dull repeating the same stuff every day, but with all the lumber i'm gonna have ready i can build a barn and chicken coop in the spring. then it will be fresh eggs, potatoes and bacon every morning

I guess I shouldn't complain after all. We've had quite a bit of snow and rain in central Indiana, well above average. But, it all was much needed after the drought we had in the summer. I was worried after my cabin's lake dropped 3' in the summer.....but 15" of melted snow and 3.5" of rain a few weeks back brought it up over the spillway. I'm rather thankful for the snow and rain.
