A Honda or a Yamaha inverter generator would be my choice. In fact it was; we have a Yamaha 2800i for 10 years now. Prior to that I've owned a couple of the more common noise makers. I really have always disliked those. When I used them on work sites I usually worked with my electronic noise canceling shooters ear muffs. I have a friend who now refuses work where there is no grid supplied power. Std. generators are simply too loud.
My Yamaha runs most everything I've tried with no problems. My big compressor won't start, but then it does have a large motor and compressor. The pancake is an easy start for the 2800i. (It would run a 13500 BTU RV A/C with no problems except at high altitudes, like 9000+ feet. At altitude it would run the A/C but only with the "economy" switch off. Just thought I'd toss that in because "anonymous" mentioned that size A/C)
