80 acres in west central Illinois,in the middle of the Golden Triangle, aka Adams, Brown, And Pike county IL. Some of the best white tail deer hunting in the country. Built a 20x40 cabin 4 years ago, its 7 miles from my house so I can drive out there any time and enjoy it. Best investment I have ever made wouldnt trade it for anything. We named it seven miles to heaven.

Southern Saskatchewan (Northern Montana) near the dirt hills, overlooking a small man made lake that was a government make work project during the "dirty 30's".

Make work? Sounds like a sloppy job then. Weren’t they supposed to dig holes and fill them back in?

Sparky - it is a great area to live and hunt in . I wish we could cut Chicago off and float it into Lake Michigan. Then all we would have left is our crooked politicians, you know something it really wrong when all your ex- governors end up in jail. You say you left Ill. what area did you live in. The deer season is looking real promising, hope to put a few in the freezer this season. Good luck to all my fellow hunters out there,be safe and have a good season.

Hi,
I'm new to the forum and own a tiny cabin on 7 acres in northern Minnesota. I love it up there, my little way to relax.

Hello, I'm new here just signed up, looks like a good site. I have a cabin on Spring Creek, located on Lake Seminole in SW Georgia. The cabin was built by my dad and I back in 1965. There was a 70s modle mobile home on the same lot I lived in that caught on fire end of Jan this year and I lost everything except the cabin. I will be remodeling and preparing to live in this 12x20 cabin, I have much work to do and hope to share and learn with you all.

Hi! New here! My husband and I are currently biting at the bit to open up our 3 season! We just bought a 570 sq. ft. cabin on a river, about 40-ish miles east of the WI. Dells and a 10 minute boat ride to a 5400 acre lake. Not a ton of acreage, but away from the city, and that is fine with us! Love the forum so far, as you all have given us some awesome information!

Welcome Suz! Another Wisconsinite!
Looks like a nice cabin with mature red pines for shade! If you've got a boat, you don't need a ton of acreage to get away.

Something about the charm of older cabins like that I really like.

I live in Milwaukee, have some land in Marinette county with red pines. We're hoping to build ours in a couple years.

We're in southern NY state, on state land in a kind of weird grandfathered deal. Not directly on the lake, you can just see it from the porch when the leaves aren't on the trees, but we have access.

Northwestern Ontario just East of Atikokan. We're a 15 minute drive to Quetico Provincial Park and our lake is part of the Path of the Paddle canoe route.
We have 2.5 acres of beautiful mature white and red pine forest with an understory of red maple.
